CBD Chia Pudding Recipe

Lauren Flanagan

This tasty CBD Chia Pudding recipe is easy to make and only requires a handful of ingredients. Try it out for a nutritious start to your day, or a healthy snack to wind down at the end of your night!

  • NO COOK + 100% Gluten-free + Dairy-free + Vegetarian

Chia seeds make a wonderful base to this pudding. The seeds absorb into the oat milk and soften to create a wonderfully rich and smooth pudding. Chia seeds not only add a savory texture, they are packed with antioxidants. Including antioxidants into your daily diet is a great idea, because they have been linked to preventing some chronic diseases.

What takes this recipe to the next level, is our added dose of Heritage CBD Oil: Unflavored. This is a perfect recipe to incorporate CBD Oil because it does not require any heat, therefore you do not have to worry about temperature potentially denaturing the cannabinoids.

Try out our recipe below (50mg CBD per serving)

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup Chia Seeds
  • 1 cup Oat Milk

How to Take CBD Oil

Lauren Flanagan

CBD stands for Cannabidiol. It is a phytocannabinoid derived from the Hemp plant. CBD, unlike THC, is non-intoxicating, meaning that it does not elicit a "high" feeling. The Oil in our tinctures is made with Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract and all-natural MCT Oil. Broad-Spectrum is the extraction of CBD along with other beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes derived from hemp, excluding THC.

Getting started using an Oil Tincture can feel a bit overwhelming for those new to the CBD world. If you're looking to get started taking CBD Oil, following our step-by-step guide and you will be an expert in no time!

Choose Your Dose

The first step to getting started is finding your ideal CBD dose. We suggest that those new to CBD keep a journal for at least a few weeks. There is no universal standard dose, the perfect dose will vary for everyone. We suggest starting with low dose (around 10mg-25mg per day.) Take your selected dose at about the same time every day and record how you feel. If you don't notice enough relief, try raising your dose after a couple of weeks and record your results.

You do not have to worry about potential adverse effects of CBD Oil.* According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cannabidiol does not appear to have abuse potential or cause harm.

*You should consult with your doctor before taking CBD Oil if you are taking other drugs because it could affect how the other drugs work in your system.

READING THE DROPPER

Our CBD Oil Tinctures comes in three serving sizes: 300mg, 750mg, and 1500mg. All of the tinctures are available in Unflavored or Peppermint. Once you open your bottle you will notice that the dropper has clearly marked lines from 0.25mL-1.0mL. One full dose of each concentration is equivalent to 1.0mL. On the label of each bottle you will find the "mg of CBD per serving".

300mg Tincture: 1mL serving = 10mg

750mg Tincture: 1mL serving = 25mg

1500mg Tincture: 1mL serving = 50mg

The dropper lines will allow you to easily adjust your dose depending on your preference.

Choose Your Method

Once you have selected your CBD Oil flavor and dose there are a few methods to get the oil into your system.

SUBLINGUALLY

Taking CBD sublingually (under your tongue) is the quickest way for the oil to enter your bloodstream. This is because there are mucus membranes under your tongue which absorb the oil most effectively. CBD oil still works if you don't put it directly under your tongue, but taking it sublingually and holding for 30-60 seconds is the fastest way to get it into your system.

IN FOOD/DRINK

Another effective method to ingest CBD is in your food or drinks. CBD can be easily added to dressings, dips, smoothies, cocktails, coffee, or tea. If you are looking to cook with CBD, make sure you stick to recipes that require low heat, we suggest below 320°F. This is because CBD's boiling point is between 320°F and 356°F so cooking "low and slow" will ensure the cannabinoid does not degrade and become less effective.

Note to Our Valued Customers

Lauren Flanagan

A note to our valued customers...

We a received a letter this week from our state Hemp Licensing body (The Massachusetts Dept. of Agriculture) demanding we immediately cease the sale of our CBD Gummies and our CBD Oil for Pets. They are claiming that gummies are a form of candy, which is food, and therefore a prohibited product under their policy. We’re at a loss as to why they feel our Pet Oils are a violation. Rest assured; we are determined to fight this!

We’ve requested a meeting with the MA Hemp Program officials that issued the letter in order to clarify their position and state our case. After consulting with our attorneys, we are certain that all our activities are in fact legal and not in violation of our license. We are confident this issue will be settled in a timely manner.

However, based on advice from our legal team, we are forced to temporarily make these products unavailable for sale on our website. We apologize for this interruption in offering you these popular products. We know that many of you depend on them! Please note that our Oil Drops, Softgel Capsules, and Topical products remain available online.

Thank you for your patience and support as we address this frustrating and unjust matter.

Sincerely,
Your friends at Heritage CBD

7 Simple Ways to Improve Your Mental Health

7 Simple Ways to Improve Your Mental Health

As World Mental Health Day is this month (October 10th), it is a good reminder that we should all prioritize our mental health. Here are a few easy changes we can all make in our lives to help improve our mental health.

1. Learn How to Say “No”

Don't worry about disappointing others, set boundaries for yourself and be realistic with how much time and energy you have to give. If you are looking for a gentle way to say no, explain honestly what's preventing you from committing and offer a suggestion of another time or solution.

2. Set Aside Time for Self-Care

Every day, set aside time to do something for YOU. Figure out what you truly enjoy doing and allow yourself the freedom to indulge. This could be anything from a bubble bath to a long bike-ride, or just an episode of your favorite TV show.

3. Edit Your Internal Dialogue

Reforming your outlook on challenging situations can be one of the best ways to help improve your mood. Rather than thinking about things with the mind-set of: "I have to" try practicing saying to yourself: "I get to." These subtle changes can help you develop a more positive mindset. Even if you don’t believe it at first, try saying positive affirmations to yourself, soon enough you can start believing them!

Examples of reframing thoughts:

Instead of I have to try I get to

Instead of I can’t try I’ll try

Instead of I could never try maybe some day

4. Carry Some Coping Tools

Try keeping something on hand that can be used to help in moments you may be feeling stressed or anxious. Some examples of helpful tools include: a stress ball, an aromatherapy inhaler, jewelry with a calming or inspirational message, or our personal favorite; Heritage CBD products. Having some on-hand to help alleviate stress can be a comfort on its own.

5. Get Some Sleep!

The state of your mental health could be directly impacted by the amount of sleep you are getting. When you are sleep deprived, your Serotonin levels lower and your Cortisol levels spike. Serotonin is a mood-stabilizer, while Cortisol is your stress-response hormone.  Therefore, these chemical shifts from sleep deprivation could be causing more damage to your mind than you’d think!

6. Talk it Out

It's important to have someone to talk to about what's going on in your life or things that you are struggling with. Therapy is always a great option or reaching out to a close friend or family member. If you don't feel comfortable talking to someone you know or face to face, there are plenty of sources online to anonymously reach out for help and speak with somebody.

7. Don't Let Setbacks Defeat You

Life comes with plenty of ups and downs. Setbacks do not equate to failure, and you should aim to look at them as merely obstacles on the way to success. If you fixate on one problem it can feel consuming, therefore it’s important to step back and look at the greater picture. For example, if you're having an off morning, avoid telling yourself that you are having a terrible day, because with a positive mindset, that day can turn around and be great. Trust that situations that are less than ideal are only temporary, and good things will come soon—just don’t give up!
